_______________________________________________________________________________Up for sale is my Ibanez JS1200 Joe Satriani Electric Guitar.
Also includes Molded Prestige "Team J Craft" Hard Case, and Whammy Bar.

Made in Japan. In excellent, fully-functional condition. Very reluctant sale.
Only selling to help fund a custom guitar build. The cost of the custom guitar is starting to creep up, so ideally I'm going to need to sell some gear to fund it.
All I have left in my collection are my four "keeper" guitars. So I have no choice but to start selling off some of my most prized collections. This Ibanez JS1200 is
one of those guitars that I searched high and low to find. I trawled from store to store trying to find "that" guitar, and then one lucky day I found it. Imagine my
surprise when I found it in a basswood Ibanez. This guitar is actually my second favorite guitar - sitting right between my Edwards Les Paul and my Charvel
So Cal, both of which are also guitars that I searched extensively for. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I'd be willing to sell this JS1200, but I can't sell
my Edwards Les Paul as it's got loads of wear and tear on it from being played often and I'd be losing way too much money on it. So here I am putting my prized
JS1200 up for sale. I know this backstory sounds ridiculous, but this guitar is special.
There are small indents on the back of the neck, and also very light marks overall (See pics below). The neck pocket has some hairline scratches in the paint which
were very difficult to photgraph. But they are only in the paint, and do not affect the guitar's playability.

This is the best sounding Ibanez guitar I've owned, and I've owned quite a few of them. I've owned all manner of Prestige models (2xRGA121's, an RGA321,
various RG1XXX's and RG2XXX's and even a late 80's RG550) and Artist models (JS1000, JS2000, one other JS1200, a Paul Gilbert Model and a Jem) and this JS1200
beats them all hands down. It's an outright tone machine. None of that thin, weedy sound that I've experienced from every other Ibanez I've owned or tried.
This guitar is a real find.Seriously great sounding guitar this one. The hand-wound Motor City Detroiter pickups really get the most from the guitar. Can do everything from clean to scream.
Awesome growl and thump when playing metal rhythm tones through a high-gain amp. And the lead tones are righteous. Plus the High-Pass Filter and Coil-Splits allow
for some very impressive clean tones as well.Clean low action with absolute minimal fret buzz. And the fret finishing and dressing is stellar. The construction all round and tonewoods used are of the highest quality.
And the unique aerofoil shape of the guitar makes for one incredibly comfortable playing guitar.

Motor City Pickups Detroiter Set:
Gone are the FRED and Paf Joe (urgh!) and thus there's no more thin, honky, weedly weedly tone to be
found. This particular JS1200's natural tone has bucketloads of potential, and those Dimarzio pickups were
seriously holding it back. With the Detroiter bridge this guitar now has a full percussive low end, and thick
juicy mids with a nicely detailed top end. Just perfect for high gain rhythm and expressive lead playing.
And the neck Detroiter is great for sweet round lead tones.
This is the most metal sounding JS1200 I've
had the pleasure of hearing. It'll still get great hard rock tones, and Satriani's rhythm and lead tones. But
when you crank the gain up, the guitar really shines. The Detroiters also coil-split nicely thanks largely to
the High Pass Filter - without which the Detroiters can get a little dark-sounding when rolling down the volume.
If you haven't tried Motor City Pickups, you owe it to yourself to give them a go. See the following link for more
details -

Brass Trem Stopper & Noise Suppressing Foam:
This great little device locks down the trem so that the guitar is as stable as a hard-tail. With it, the guitar
can handle all all manner of Double Stop and Unison Bends without the other strings going flat. And you can
carry out maintenance and string changes without having to worry about the nightmare of working on a
fully floating trem. The trem will still dive bomb aplenty. It just won't raise up in pitch is all - much the same as
if the trem was installed hard against the body rather than in a recessed cavity. If you want the trem fully-floating,
all you have to do is undo the nut and remove the threaded screw.
And the Noise Suppressing Foam
prevents any unwanted echoes and pings sounding from the trem cavity springs.
Professional Setup:
The guitar has been setup by a professional guitar technician with super low action and excellent playability.
You can dig in and attack the strings with extremely minimal, barely perceptible fret buzz. It's been setup with
a brand new set of D'Addario 009 to 046 strings.
_______________________________________________________________________________FEATURES:
Amazing Aerofoil Body:
The unique and eye-catching shape of the JS guitars is a work of art. And in the Candy Apple Red finish, it looks exquisite. This would have to be one of the most comfortable
guitars out there. Very light and seems like it's molded to your body.

Push/Pull Control Knobs:
A High Pass Filter on the Volume control, and a Coil-Split on the Tone control give the JS1200 a huge range of sounds at your fingertips. The High Pass Filter lets you utilize
the guitar's volume control all the way down to a whisper without losing any highs. And the Coil Split enables the humbucker pickups to be split down to an almost single-coil like
tone. Very effective for playing through a clean amp.

Impeccable Fret Finishing:
The Japanese FujiGen factory workers have incredible pride in their work judging from the fit and finish
of this guitar. Highest quality materials and workmanship on display here.

Lightning Fast JS Neck Profile:
The JS neck profile is deceptively fast and comfortable. It really doesn't feel like the radius could be less
than 12 inches. I'd guess it feels closer to a flatter 15 inch radius than it does to the claimed 9 1/2 inch
as per the Ibanez website's specs. Go figure!

Ibanez Prestige JS-Molded Hardcase:
The best hardcase in the business. Plush lined and heavy-duty. It's a work of art in itself. If it wasn't molded
to fit a JS body shape I'd be keeping it for my Charvel and Strat.

INDOOR PICS:
The Candy Apple Red's actual colour is very difficult to capture in a pic. Outdoors, it appears more orange
than red. But the actual appearance is closer to that of the indoor pics below. I provided the outdoor pics
further down the page to highlight every little detail on the guitar.
