This is a vintage 1961 Kay Custom Kraft Model 4153. Nicknamed "Red Fury", these guitars were distributed by St. Louis Music (SLM) for only a brief time between 1961 and '62, dubbed the "Dynamic Color" series. The body is made from laminated maple, and along with the neck, is surrounded by awesome checkerboard binding. It has two single-coil pickups, with truly vintage, articulate, clear voices. The bridge pickup has been rewound and sounds extremely similar to the original. Aside from the pickup, it is all original. These Krafts are super cool guitars. They not only sound great plugged in, but acoustically as well. They're also really, really light. This Red Fury has been professionally set up and comes with its original chipboard case, which is in great shape except for its inner compartment.
