The Roland ‘SYSTEM-1m’ is a semi-modular synth with PLUG-OUT features and a unique design that can be used as a Eurorack module, a tabletop standalone synth, or a 19” rack mount unit. A Collection of Classics The SYSTEM-1m is an extremely powerful instrument based on Rolands more than 40 years of experience in designing all types of synthesizers. It’s capable of an astonishing range of tones, from glistening arps to huge booming basses. But Roland is also known for its history of legendary vintage instruments, sought after by musicians all over the world. These include a laundry list of classic synthesizers renowned for their unique character and genre-defining tones. And this is why PLUG-OUT technology was developed. PLUG-OUT synthesizers utilize the Analog Circuit Behavior technology to precisely replicate some of the most revered classic synths. They work the same as regular VST or AU plugins in any DAW, with the SYSTEM-1m’s lineup of high-resolution controls, creating an efficient, one-to-one control surface that performs seamlessly. But users can also load PLUG-OUT synths directly into the SYSTEM-1m and switch between the internal synthesizer architecture and any of a growing roster of PLUG-OUT Roland classics, such as the SH-101, SH-2 and PROMARS - without requiring a computer. While it provides a stunning amount of synthesis power on its own, interconnecting the SYSTEM-1m with other modular gear can create a massive range of sonic possibilities.
