1986 Yamaha Tour Custom 6 Piece Drum Set [Cobalt Blue] Made in Japan.PLEASE NOTE: THE 8" TOM HAS BEEN SOLD. THE 8" TOM YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES IS SOLD. THIS LISTING IS FOR THE 6 DRUMS LISTED!!!!!!!! All shells are a 6-ply hybrid blend of (inner) Mahogany and (outer) Birch. These shells are beautiful to look at! Between the Yamaha Recording Customs and the Yamaha Tour Custom sets, these were the drums guys had to have in the 1980s. Featuring a high-gloss Cobalt Blue lacquer finish and all chrome hardware, these drums offer a very punchy sound that was made for the stage. The toms feature the YESS mounts where the arms physically go into the shell which I think is a better design than the YESS mountain where the arms stop at the outside of the shell. Just my personal opinion. For all you Yamaha Cobalt Blue guys, don't miss your chance to get a complete 6 piece drum set! These sets don't appear too often, and we all know how hard (and expensive) drum hunting can get! Details: Used set but very nice condition for a 30 year old drum set. There are a few cosmetic imperfections that need to be pointed out: -- There are two very small, rice grain sized blemishes on the top of the bass drum shell. I took a picture of them. They are very small but they are there. -- The bass drum has some pedal rash on the bottom hoop but not overly bad, I have seen much worse. I took a picture of that too. Nothing else to report. The toms may exhibit some very light surface wear but no paint chips or anything bad like that. Nothing worth taking a picture of. The typical wear and tear you would expect from a 30 year-old drum set that was very well taken care of. The drum heads are in very nice shape! They have plenty of life left in them. There are clear Remo heads on the toms and Aquarian heads on the snare drum and bass drum. You will not need to replace the heads anytime soon.
