Up for sale, a 1976 Gibson Les Paul Standard in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Featuring a saturated, dark Cherry Sunburst finish, this vintage Les Paul is in great shape while still having plenty of character and an array of classic Gibson tones from the T-Top humbuckers. The thick carved maple top and solid mahogany body delivers incredibly clarity, warmth, and sustain, and at only 9lbs 12oz this Les Paul is a very manageable weight too. The bridge pickup has round, chiming tones with a hint of growl and great cut, while the middle position has an ideal rhythm sound, especially with the neck pickup rolled back just a touch. The neck position humbucker has great warmth and woof without sacrificing detail, providing a perfect lead sound and a sweetness that lends itself to complex chord voicings. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Les Paul is dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action, and solid intonation. The three-piece maple neck has a slender C shaped profile with gently sloping shoulders and a hair more depth in the higher registers of the fretboard. The original frets are intact and have been professionally leveled and crowned in the guitar's lifetime while still having plenty of meat and height left. Currently, the frets show virtually no wear and play cleanly in all positions with no buzzing or dead spots. The rosewood fretboard features pearl trapezoid inlays and original cream binding. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and on the headstock, the original Gibson Deluxe double line double ring tuners are intact and turn smoothly. The guitar was once fitted with Grovers, but the original tuners are now back on the guitar, with StewMac conversion bushings to provide a tight fit on the stock tuner shafts. The "00" prefix serial number decal is intact and clean on the back of the headstock as well. All of the electronics work as they should, with stock CTS pots that date to early '76. Both T Tops have clean patent number baseplates and the chrome hardware is overall in very good shape with clean pickup covers, Nashville bridge, and stoptail. The original plastic parts are present as well with light, uniform aging. In terms of cosmetic wear, this is an honestly played and 100% stock Cherry Sunburst finish with zero touchups or overspray. The maple neck gives the sunburst a much more vibrant appearance, while the mahogany body is a warmer, richer shade. The three-piece carved maple top has a touch of flame on the bass side third and it's a particularly clean top that still has plenty of saturation and richness to the burst, with virtually no fading over the decades. There is buckle rash down to the bare mahogany central to the back and also at the bass side waist, along with various small nicks and light scuffs, also mostly relegated to the back. The guitar has zero cracks or repairs, and this is a very nice example of a '70s Les Paul Standard with factory installed full size humbuckers!
A hardshell case is included.
