Straight from our brass (and silver) instrument repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life...All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked. Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in good playable condition. We are proud to offer this refurbished instrument for sale. We have tried to describe it as it is, and are happy to answer any questions asked. #8/2017Up for sale is a 1954 Holton Model 69 Tenor Professional trombone made in Elkhorn, Wis, USA, serial #266xxx. This horn has a 7 1/2" bell flare and the slide bore is .495. It has a red brass bell and nickel plated accents. This instrument has been hand-polished. One of the slide braces has been 'flattened' somehow (see pic). After playing though, I actually like holding it, it is more comfortable. Otherwise, the horn is very clean. There are various small 'dings' on the bell, some scratching and very light pitting at the grips. It has good compression; the slide action is very good and the stockings have two very small wear-through spots, but are in good shape, with no ill effects to the action. This instrument is not lacquered; therefore, this instrument may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish). This trombone comes with a mouthpiece and a used, worn case. The Model 69 is one of the models played by the famous Buddy Morrow, who is one of the all-time great trombone players. This horn is a good playing, full-toned tenor, with good intonation and crisp sound. This has the power of a good jazz horn.
