A fine antique french master violin made by Paul Bisch, 1928, mint condition & original certificate.Fine antique french master violin made in Mirecourt by Paul Bisch in the year 1928 for the shop of Christian Olivier and Paul Bisch in Paris. This wonderful instrument has been masterly made by Bisch, who had been formerly the pupil of Léon Mougenot and Caressa & Français. The top is made of two parts of very regular grain, slightly widening towards the edges. The back is made of two pieces of flamed maple, the curl horizontal. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The oil varnish, of a delicate golden colour, is entirely original and in a perfect condition. A fantsatic instrument of the french school of the time!The violin is in a mint condition, without any crack. On the inside back can be found the original label of "PAUL BISCH, luthier, rue Chantaire à Mirecourt 1928 n°166".The violin has been entirely revised and set-up, including new rosewood and bone pegs in the baroque style, a rosewood tailpiece with bone fret, a rosewood chinrest, a Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant new strings set.The violin comes with its original certificate delivered by the Olivier & Bisch shop on December 5th 1928. Translation is : Art Violin Making, Firs Price Paris 1937, Paris 1928, Christian Olivier & Paul Bisch, Violin makers, 3 Place de la République - 21 Passage Vendôme, Paris (3e). Certificate : We, Christian Olivier and Paul Bisch, master maker, ex-worker of the Caressa & Français workshop, official maker of the Paris Conservatory of Music, certify that the violin n°166/1928 copy is entirely handmade by ourselves and oil varnished, body taken in the wood, and guaranteed against any default of making. Paris, December 5th 1928, signed by the above. A mention "golden yellow varnish" has been added.The sound is of the best concert level, deep and brilliant, with an excellent power and projection, polyvalent and with a lot of sensitivity : a fine french master instrument that you will cherish.Dimensions are the following :LOB : 354 mm.Upper bouts : 168 mm.Middle bouts : 110 mm.Lower bouts : 207 mm.The instrument comes with a new rectangular case of quality.
