Here's a rare C.G. Conn Vintage Mellophone in nice condition overall. Has a silver finish with no dents, only minor signs of normal use including some slight tarnishing on the bell. The valves show very little wear if any and the pistons are fast and smooth to the touch. It is the famed C.G. Conn "Lady Face" inscribed on the bell. Under the engraving are the letters U.S. perhaps hinting the horn may have been used the United States Army Band. Also under the lady face are the numbers 354128 which is likely the serial number. May have been manufactured around 1942-1943, according to internet sources. The horn has tuning slides for F, Eb, and D and also plays in E. The tone is warm and full and easy to produce up and down the registers with the included original Conn 1 mellophone mouthpiece. The case is in fair condition but does a good job of protecting the instrument. Had it serviced and ultra sonic cleaned at Tim's Music in Sacramento, CA. One small dent was removed at that time. A true collector's pride or everyday playing horn.It is a great playing mellophone good for various applications including band, orchestra, marching. etc. No shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico and no international shipping.
