Only 1,368 of the Marauders were made in wine red from 75-79. This guitar is a fantastic example of a true vintage Gibson and is in excellent aesthetic and playing condition. Similar to a Les Paul Style cutaway with with a bolt on neck. This is a very very rare Gibson guitar and many consider the wine red the most desirable color/pick guard combo as I did when I hunted it down 8 years ago from a local luthier's personal collection here in Brooklyn, NY. Awesome condition for a 42 year old instrument, has had no damage other than light scuffs from age and has had no needed damage repair or real nicks. Neck is straight as an arrow. Pls see hi-res DSLR Nikon images for physical condition detail.BONUS #1:      In addition to the original L-90 (also known as the L45S "Wild Bill") Bill Lawrence twin blade pickup that is included, this auction also comes with an EXTRA active EMG for the bridge position so you can switch it back if you want and sell the EMG for a hundred bucks or put it in your other guitar. BONUS #2:      Also included is a BodyGlove Cordura Deluxe gig bag with pouches and straps also in great condition, hardly used. Comes with a handful of picks, guitar strap, extra strings, and other goodies in a zippered pouch.DETAILS:     This old vintage Gibson guitar is an awesome guitar for a fraction of the price of a more well known vintage Gibson electric guitar yet looks super cool and unique. The Marauder was popularized by Kiss guitarist Paul Stanley in the 1970's and recently again by Dave Grohl of Nirvana/Foo Fighters and many other artists looking for something unique of super high quality. Cutaway body looks as feels similar to a Les Paul but without the price tag: a 1975 Les Paul today is roughly $2,500-$5,500+. The intonation of this guitar is SPOT ON. The chrome humbucker cover has been added for looks but can easily be removed, it is an OEM Gibson part. The value of this guitar will only go up and up sharply over the next few years. I'd rather hang on to it for a cool decade and watch its price inflate but sadly I need the cash. This guitar was recently set up and plays perfectly. The pickups are grounded properly but I received this guitar in it's current setup and would recommend putting it back original which is why the L-90 was hunted down and is also included. Will make a fun Saturday afternoon project for anyone with a soldering iron and a couple spare hours. I have a holy grail 60's (?) paf T-top patent sticker humbucker for sale if interested for another $300 I will include to make this the ultimate Gibson with just about the best tone an electric guitar could ever possibly have. Emailed pics of that available upon request.Expedited ship available. Will be boxed and shipped in a cardboard Taylor guitar box, wrapped in bubble wrap securely, placed in the Cordura bag, super safe and secure, shipped USPS same day, tracking provided. Bid with confidence. Any questions, pls ask. Selling to pay a bill so no returns. SOLD AS -IS. Local pickup/local inspection welcome. Unit is located in Queens, New York. I currently have a local $950 offer pending on Reverb dot com local pickup so feel free to buy it now and take her home now ~
