Straight from our brass (and silver) instrument repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life...All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked. Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in good playable condition. For the collector who is looking for an instrument; we try to keep the original parts whenever possible; if the playability is good, we feel it should be left to the buyer's discretion to replace parts as desired. We have tried to describe it as it is, and are happy to answer any questions asked. #10/2017Up for sale is a 1950 FE Olds & Son 'Studio' Tenor Professional Trombone. Manufactured in Los Angeles, Calif. Dual slide bore .485/.500, with a 7.5" diameter bell flare. The serial number on the horn is #50xxx and it is made of yellow brass and solid nickel silver. There are a couple of small 'dings' on the bell, faint minor scratching and normal light pitting at the slide grips. The slide action is very good with good compression. There is almost no wear on the stockings. This instrument is not lacquered; therefore, this instrument may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish). This trombone comes with a mouthpiece and is shipped in a used case. The 'Studio' horn is a 'shop favorite'-we love the way this horn plays. This horn is an excellent player and has a super quick response; it slots very well and has tons of power. This horn was one of the best jazz horns and does everything well.
