Vintage 1981 Gibson ES-347, Sunburst, HSC, EXC Condition
Estimated price for orientation: 2 500 $

Class:
Description Brand: Gibson Body Type: Semi-Hollow Series: Original Vintage Dexterity: Right-Handed Model: ES-347 String Configuration: 6 String
For your consideration is this fabulous 1981 Gibson ES-347 semi-hollow guitar. Sunburst finish. These guitars were an upgrade version of the ES-345 without the Varitone. This guitar has the much sought after original classic and desirable "Dirty Fingers" humbucking pickups. They are measurably hotter than normal Gibson humbuckers with a clear, punchy, wide range frequency response. It has the coil tap switch on the neck pickup for the single coil pickup sound. It comes with a new hard shell case. (Original destroyed by airlines. No damage to the guitar thankfully.) Guitar is marked second for a small finish blemish under the pickguard. Guitar is shown without pickguard attached so I can show you this blemish. The original pickguard and mounting hardware is included. The finish blemish has no effect whatsoever on the playability of the guitar. Overall the finish is excellent with a few dings here and there but it has been well loved and cared for. The top looks as if it is a fine grained single piece overlay and the back is highly figured. This guitar has block markers on an ebony fretboard, fine tuning TP-6 tailpiece, a brass nut, and the "sustain sisters" which are brass blocks set inside the guitar in which the tail piece and/or bridge are mounted. It has the TP-6 adjustable tailpiece for precision intonation. The tuning screws are not loaded in the tailpiece but are included in the case compartment. It has a new Gibson ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge. The original is included. Minimal fret wear. Comes loaded with 10-46 strings. Ready to rock out of the box! I had to turn my Fender amps down almost 2 numbers for the pickups they are so hot!
From the Guitar Dater Project: Your guitar was made at the Kalamazoo Plant, MI, USA on May 5th, 1981 Production Number: 43
