This is a very well made Japanese Shamisen good tone, skins have good tension fitted with new strings comes with thick carry bag.
This instrument comes apart in four sections and comes with two plastic and one bone bridge wood bachi silk cover doukake this is the leather cover over the top of the sound box it does have a corner that is worn on the material just the edge though.
This Shamisen is unique for the color I haven't seen one with a lite color wood before it looks like teak wood not sure but you be the judge.
The workmanship on this instrument is nothing short of outstanding, hand made by masters of the old way, this instrument has the wider neck commonly found in the later modals these days
