Description
Brand: Gibson Series: LES PAUL
Model: DELUXE GOLDTOP MPN: SERIAL NUMBER - 619489

This is an all original Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top from '71 WITH EMBOSSED GIBSON LOGO PICKUPS, that is all original and in excellent condition. These embossed logo pickup cover were only produced on late 1971 and 1972 models. Pots read "1377142." SERIAL NUMBER 619489. It's got the usual little bumps and scratches from a vintage guitar but it's in really great shape and looks awesome. The paint is still looking good and there have been no repairs at all. Comes with a non original hard case.
The carved three-piece maple top of this Les Paul is not quite perfect, but it is in above average condition for an original survivor from this vintage. With a comfortable weight of only 9lbs 8oz, this Gibson Les Paul Deluxe has enough heft to deliver the model's signature sustain and punch, yet still be fairly forgiving on the back. The original Gibson mini humbuckers still sound great, and the Les Paul Deluxe has a warm and full sound when played at lower volumes, and it also provides that distinctive Gibson Les Paul crunch when played at higher volume. While the bridge position can sound almost jangly at lower volume, it will quickly start to growl when you turn the volume knobs up towards full. The neck pickup has a much more warm tone to compliment the full bridge tone, and when played clean it is great for a wide variety of warmer tones. The guitar was professionally setup with a fresh set of light gauge Di Addario strings and really plays great with very comfortable string height, and it also has excellent intonation.
The three-piece mahogany neck has a medium C profile with just enough roundness in the shoulders and a bit more depth as you move into the higher registers of the fretboard. The guitar has the original frets that show only the slightest signs of wear, and the fretboard shows no signs of wear. The nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width.
All of the electronics work as they should, with the stock wiring harness and CTS pots that date to the first months of '71. Both mini-humbucker pickups are  the Gibson original patent stickered pickups. All hardware is original, just as the guitar came from Gibson back in 1971.
