PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION, it is really in the best of both of our interests. I am open to best offers. Comes with a modified Ibanez Xiphos case. I apologize, but due to new CITES regulations I'm not willing to ship internationally.Bond #25 - "Frankenstein" Patchwork Cyclone F8Some of you might know this one. The woodwork on it is absolutely bananas! I purchased this about mid-last year. When I first got it, despite some obvious things that were a bit weird on it (more on that later), I fell in absolute love with the thing immediately. It was very inspiring and I found myself writing on it very easily. But after the honeymoon was over I kinda just set it aside. And haven't done much with it recently. It's taking up space now.Specs:Body: Ambrosia maple with a 1/4" bubinga ply and a stripe of quilted maple that runs through the entirety of the body, including the top.Body top: 16 different woods (according to Bond). The ones I can easily pick out are Pale Moon Ebony, buckeye burl, redwood burl, flamed maple, spalted maple, quilted maple, wenge, amongst others.Neck: 3-piece wenge/flamed mapleFretboard: ironwood with cocobolo binding.Frets: 27Scale: 25.5"-27.5"Inlays: none Side dots: luminlayHardware: StrandbergHardware color: blackKnobs: figured ash and cocoboloStrap buttons: Dunlop straplocksJack: NeutrikControls: volume, tone, 3-way, killswitchPickups: EMG 808/808X w/custom covers from BondTone: Despite having what you would think would be a lot of bright woods, it has a nice, punchy-yet-controlled low end thump when you palm mute. Probably due to the wenge in the neck and the ply of bubinga helping to fill out that tonal spectrum a bit.Modifications: The previous owner had replaced the EMGs with Lace pickups, which sounded very shrill in this guitar. I had the original EMGs put back in by a competent tech. Oddly, when we partnered with a rep at EMG, we determined that there was absolutely no way that 2 of the three mini-switches could perform the functions that the luthier said they did (series/parallel, cool split), so my tech put nylon plugs in. Also, same tech gave this beast a full setup.IN THE INTEREST OF FULL DISCLOSURE: - there is an issue with the alignment of the high E string (photo available). It is right up on the edge of the board from pretty much the 12th fret on up. It's something that you can get used to when playing leads, but there again, in the interest of full disclosure.- the straplocks are just the posts. The locks themselves were never sent to me.- where one of the mini-switches was, there appears to be some cracking. This could be just aesthetic, but I'm actually guessing it might have been that piece of wood in the top, as it appears that it was finished over.- fretwork is okay. Some of the ends on the bass side are a little rough, despite the binding.- some slight tool marks on edge of fretboard in some places. Only noticeable if you're really looking for it.- headstock hardware is split. It looks a little weird, but I understand it's to ensure there is nothing blocking access to the trussrod.- finally, luthier was not the greatest at finishing the body. There are parts here or there where there is drippage that was never sanded down/buffed out. Tried to include a bit of that in assorted photos.Any questions, please send me a PM. I have more photos and am very willing to take more to make you feel at ease.
