1972 Mitsuru Tamura 800 Classical Guitar
Solid Cedar Top
Solid Indian Rosewood Back and Sides
Bone Nut (52mm) and Bone Saddle
660mm Scale LengthThis guitar was made by the well-respected Japanese luthier Mitsuru Tamura in the golden period of classical guitar making in Japan. The build quality of the guitar is outstanding and shows a great pride of workmanship. The condition of the guitar is excellent. The only visible marks on the guitar are from some wear below the sound hole. The rest of the guitar has no big marks. There are no cracks or visible repairs on the guitar. The sound of the guitar is warm and Spanish with deep basses and strong trebles. It has great volume and sustain all around the fretboard as well as excellent sound separation string-to-string. It’s a concert guitar in every aspect and sounds better than current guitars being made that cost three times as much. The action setup makes it very easy to play (about 3.6 mm treble side and about 4.1 mm bass side at the 12th fret). There are no buzzing or playability issues anywhere along the neck. The frets are in good shape and have been polished and leveled and the fingerboard conditioned. The neck is straight and there is room on the saddle (about 1 mm treble side and about 2 mm bass side) to go lower with the action if needed. The guitar will come with a set of La Bella 850 Gold nylon strings. These are among the most generic nylon strings available and allow the guitar to bring out its voice without coloring or exaggerating it. This guitar does not need carbon strings to sound great. It has more than enough volume and clarity with the most basic nylon strings. For a sound sample of this exact guitar, please see the following video on youtube:
