The solid Grade-AAA Premium Figured Maple top and solid Mahogany back give a blend of richness, depth, punch and clarity unmatched by any single-wood guitar. The back is also treated with Gibson's new modern weight relief pattern to increase comfort and resonance.The neck of the guitar is made from solid, quarter-sawn Mahogany, carved in a new asymmetrical SlimTaper™ profile and glued-in. The bound Rosewood fingerboard has 22 medium-jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays, and has a superbly playable compound radius.The pair of BurstBucker Pro™ pickups are based on the PAF humbuckers of the late '50s but are updated with potted coils for howl-free performance and four-conductor wiring that allows for incredible versatility. Each volume control has push-pull switching to split the coils for single-coil tones with hum-cancelling performance in the middle position.
