This is my 1900 C.G. Conn Wonder Cornet in silver plate with gold accents in the engraving and gold wash inside the bell. I used to play it daily. I think I bought it about 15 years ago. I don't want to sell this, but I just don't have space for it anymore. Serial numbers match on instrument and the valves. 66165 - placing it right at 1900. The engraving is gorgeous and as you can see, the all-original plating is almost perfect. A few very small dings here and there, as you might expect from a 117 year old horn. Valves work smoothly when kept oiled. Compression isn't bad, though it's not a new horn. All slides move smoothly and I keep them greased. The spit valve corks need replacing. I'm just using eraser in the spit valves now. It works, but ideally you'll want to put cork in them. I clean it about 4 times a year. I just gave it a polish for pictures.Comes with case and a period V-shaped mouthpiece, which I prefer, as well as a period mute. I could assume it's original to the horn, but with no way of knowing, I won't say for sure. The case is usable, but if you travel with this, I wouldn't trust it in an airport or anything. When I ship it I'm going to wrap everything in bubble wrap just to be safe.
I want it to go to a good home, so if it doesn't sell I don't care. I'll keep it. Don't bother with offering less.If I left anything out or if you have questions, let me know!
