Hello, this is a New Old Stock 2009 Gibson USA Melody Maker. yes it is black!! includes paperwork as shown. Also included is a new Gator hard case that fits the guitar very, very well. The case is brand new other than the fact that the guitar has been inside it for several years, all boxed up in climate-controlled storage. Also included is the original "throwback" cardboard Gibson MM box. which somone put clear tape on but it still looks really clean and is definitely all there.The guitar is brand new. it no longer carries a warrantee and is therefore sold as used. You can see this one still has the plastic on the pickguard. There may be some signs of life on the guitar from being a floor model, but to my eyes it appears virtually brand new. it has been stored de-tuned in its case for several years. I have tested the tuners and electronics for this auction, and she is good to go!The guitar has a couple minor cosmetic blemishes which Gibson USA series guitars are known for having from the factory, from time to time. there is a slight cosmetic imperfection on the side of the headstock as shown near the tuner. its very small and insignificant, the photo makes it look like more than it is. its really nothing, but its there, and I believe in full disclosure. Again, Gibson USA series are known for this sort of thing. There is also some very light scuffing on the neck, which will probably fade with just a little play time. The guitar may have been manufactured this way, or the scuffing occured during prior shipping, when it was only packed in its "throwback" cardboard box, with cardboard neck cradle. Its really nothing at all, and if anything shows that the guitar really has never been played. Again, just full disclosure. please see pictures!The neck and body are all full genuine mahogany. the fretboard is *real* rosewood (NOT the alternate fretboard wood Gibson also used around this time).after 2009 the design and materials of the Gibson Melody Maker, as well as all Gibson USA series guitars, changed significantly. Grab this one if you need a new mahogany rosewood beast! so many possibilites with this guitar, and i'd honestly keep it if I didnt have 3 others! it would also make a great gift, especially with that throwback cardboard box right when you unwrap it!I charge a flat $60 for all packaging, shipping, handling, and insurance for the sale price.***I ONLY SHIP TO USA CONTIGUOUS 48 STATES******I DO NOT OFFER OR ACCEPT RETURNS***Thank you!
