Up for auction.Rare classic set of Pearl GLX Pro vintage drums -- made in Japan from the 1980s.In excellent condition -- always case kept and in warm/dry storage for the past 20 years. Matched set -- the drums were purchased new as a set with corresponding serial numbers. In their day these were the best series of drums produced by Pearl and among the best you could buy from any maker. The GLK Pro series were only produced for a few years in the 1980s and were the precursors to what would eventually become Pearl's Masters series. Heavy drums that are built like tanks -- 100 percent maple shells -- 7 plys. The drums all have amazing tuning ranges from low to high with lots of depth and punch, and volume and projection when needed. The drums are finished in original high gloss wine red lacquer. All original hardware, excellent shell exteriors, interiors and bearing edges. All drums have Pearl's chrome over heavy gauge steel quick release lugs which may have been exclusive to the GLX Pro series.DETAILS AND SPECS:
(depths are measured from shell edge to edge not including the hoops). 24 round x 14 inch deep kick drum -- 10 lugs per side. Original matching maple hoops, legs, tension rods and claws and tom mounting port. New Pearl ported logo resonate head. Clear muffled batter head. Very clean finish, minor tom rash on one side of the top and wear where the bass drum pedal attaches to the batter side hoop. The two Pearl Un i Lock tom mounting posts are missing -- easy and inexpensive to replace, about $15 each on Ebay.13 round x 11 inch deep mounted tom -- 6 lugs per side. Original lugs, hoops and tom mounting port. Remo clear heads. Very clean finish.14 round x 12 inch deep mounted tom -- 8 lugs per side. Original lugs, hoops and tom mounting port. Remo clear heads. Very clean finish.18 round x 16 inch deep floor tom on legs -- 8 lugs per side. Original lugs, legs, hoops and leg mounting ports. Remo clear heads.
