The Turner Model One Guitar was made famous by Lindsey Buckingham (solo and Fleetwood Mac) and more recently by John Mayer. It was originally designed in 1979 by master luthier Rick Turner, based on an amazing 1820’s Stauffer guitar. It’s shape and playability make it among the most unique and wonderful guitars available and its tone and playability are without compare. Rick Turner designed not only an extraordinary guitar, he also designed the pickup on the Model One that has in many way revolutionized guitar pickups. The Turner pickup’s ability to blend elements of electric and acoustic tones make it among the most versatile pickups ever put on a professional quality guitar. This guitar is a fully mahogany Model One with the Turner active pickup. Pickup can be played as either active or passive (shipped without battery for safety) and can operate in single coil or humbucker modes. This is not the Featherweight – its full weight allows richness of tone and “sustain for days.” This guitar is signed by Rick Turner and was made by him in 2001. The Turner Model One C-LB comes with the upgrade Turner Tolex hard shell case. Guitar and case are in perfect condition. To prepare this wonderful guitar for sale, a full tune-up and intonation was done by a fine local luthier, with new strings, and action adjustments for a “just low enough” string height. This amazing guitar represents the height of the luthier’s art and can provide you with inspiration and joy of playing for many years to come.
