58 years old and showing it. There are dings and scratches, the worst of which go through the lacquer. I believe at some point the neck has been re-set (judging by a thin lacquer gap between the heel and the side of the body on the right shoulder). There is a 'falling away' of the fret board as it joins the body at the fourteenth fret, but that doesn't affect playing - the top isn't sinking and it doesn't have significant bellying. The scratch plate is lifting slightly at the pointy end. The sound hole label is missing. Now for the good part! Alpine spruce, flamed maple combination gives a great mellow tone with huge volume. The action is approximately 3mm at the twelfth fret and there's scope to lower it at the saddle. It's a Levin 'Goliath' = 'the best kept secret of the acoustic guitar world' (Guitarist Magazine, UK). Serial number 695152 = 1959.
