Hi, here for sale is my LK100D in powder blue, rather a gorgeous colour. Great guitar but my first outing into strat scale length and not quite sure compared to Gibson scale length. It is a smooth and very easy player and has been set up top notch by Monty's Guitars. It is 7 month old, bought from the UK importer and I have gigged it a few times.
Here is what's different to stock. I am not a fan of active guitars so I had the guitar made passive by taking out the preamp, which was always on, and replacing all the pots with good quality pots. It really did improve the sound quite a lot, made the guitar sound fatter and got rid of the annoying active treble. It is still a lively guitar but not shrill anymore. I had the neck pickup replaced as I did not like the ceramic magnets in the neck, too harsh and unpleasant somewhat. It is now a tonerider alnico 2 pickup and sounds rather chimey and sweet. The bridge pickup is still the Di Marzio Transition but in the bridge it sounds rather good. Not a classic gibson type tone but very tight and crunchy, however it is not too bright at all. I had the pickup selections changed as well as, again, I thought the originals where not that usable. Now the sounds are
1=Bridge Humbucker
2=Bridge Coil Tapped
3=Bridge Coil tapped and Neck Coil Tapped
4=Neck Humbucker
5=Neck Coil tapped
I don't really ever use the neck humbucker in any guitar, always coil tapped, so it made sense to have it this way but it can of course be easily reversed.
This really really works and the coil tapped sounds are rather funky and not accessable on the original switching system.
The trem has also been blocked Van Halen style so you can go down only. This drastically improves the sustain and tone.
The trem spring cover has been taken off as your clothing will stop the springs ringing when playing, which I can't stand. This way they are muted and the sound is just more solid. Not sure if I still have it.
It does come with the original gig bag.
Postage cost is an estimate as it depends where to and how fast, could be less or more but I am not trying to make extra money from postage.
Thanks for looking
Robert
