This is a very nice, all original, vintage 1966 Fender Jaguar with original case. Again, this is an original 1966 Jaguar (not a reissue). This was a one owner guitar and is completely original including finish, parts, components and solder joints. Again, it is completely original. The serial number is 1896XX. The neck is date stamped "15 SEP 66 B". The pots are dated coded 1967 as well. It is in very good clean condition with some normal scratches, nicks, lacquer checking and wear but overall really nice and extremely attractive. No cracks, breaks, repairs or mods. It has not been detailed or overly cleaned. I gave it a once over with a cloth and Martin polish but that's it. There are a couple of little smudges on the front but it's extremely minor. Metal hardware is clean and shiny with only light patina. Original Fender Mute is intact. Pickguard is also very nice with no chips or cracks and no marks or nicks at the truss rod adjustment. The neck and headstock have some exceptionally nice flame figure to the maple (see photos). Guitar plays very well and sounds great. The neck is straight with nice action. The truss rod is in good working order and the truss rod adjustment nut is not chewed up or buried. Frets show normal moderate wear with plenty of life. Pickups are strong and electronics are all in good working order and working properly. Original tremolo arm is intact and included. Original case is in very good condition with some normal wear and tear but overall in really good shape. All case latches, hinges, handle and hardware are intact. Original case Fender logo with no tail is also all intact. This guitar was played some (not heavily) but well cared for. It's clean, straight and all original and it's getting harder and harder to find them like this. The least expensive 1966 sunburst Jaguar on the Reverb website right now is 3K (they go up from there). I'm selling this one with no reserve and a low starting price.
