Epiphone 1958 Korina Limited Edition ExplorerThe Korina Explorer was light years ahead of its time when it was first introduced in 1958. With its angular, asymmetrical body and pointed headstock, the Explorer was unlike any guitar available. In fact, the Explorer was such a radical departure that only around 100 of the famed instruments were produced at the legendary Kalamazoo factory. What few have survived are now highly prized collectibles that sell for half a million dollars or more. Now, Epiphone brings back the one-of-a-kind legend in all its original glory made from beautiful Korina.The Ltd. Edition Korina Explorer is powered by an Alnico Classic humbucker in the neck position and an overwound, slightly hotter Alnico Classic Plus humbucker in the bridge position. Similar in tone to the original “PAF style” humbuckers of the original explorers, Alnico Classics use Alnico-V magnets for a higher output with enhanced mids and highs. Controls include individual volume controls for each pickup and a master tone with vintage style Black “Top Hat” knobs. Condition Notes:
This is a never owned, professionally refurbished instrument. These guitars are acquired from the manufacturer by the largest factory authorized refurbishing center in the country. Here they are fully inspected by a certified technician, and any necessary adjustments or repairs are made. Most are simply given a professional set up and tuning. The guitars are sent there for many reasons, including minor cosmetic flaws and/or minor repairs.All our guitars come with a new standard factory setup. These guitars are the next best thing to buying new without paying full price! The word "used" is often stamped in small letters on the back of the headstock and a new serial number is given to the instrument to prevent false warranty claims.This guitar was rated NVR (No visible repairs), which means no issues were found and no repairs were necessary.  Only a professional set up was performed. This may have been used as a demo guitar for Epiphone prior to going through the refurbishing center.  There are some very light pick marks on the pick guard.  There is also some minor bleeding of the stain from the side to the front of the body near where the neck & body meet (see pictures).  I give this guitar a 9.75 out of 10 in appearance.  Epiphone Explorer hardshell case included.Guitar Specs:
