Description
Skill Level: Professional Model: Model 2
Brand: Fox Products Corporation Country/Region of Manufacture: United States

Fox Model 2 Bassoon, lovingly cared for by owner and maintained by Chad Taylor (Illinois) and Charles Huebner (Pennsylvania). The instrument is a excellent used condition, with a few very minor scratches and dings. Very special sound: deep, rich timbre with superb intonation, made more flexible than the average Model II thanks to selective tone hole undercutting by Chad Taylor. Circa 2012, Charles Huebner completely disassembled the instrument, gave the wooden sections an oil bath in a special blend of oils, selectively resurfaced tone holes, and re-padded / re-corked the keys and adjusted and selectively replaced springs. The instrument was consistently played and swabbed until 2015, when the owner moved on to other activities and only infrequently played since that time. The bassoon has always been stored in a temperature- and humidity-controlled room and it seals strongly and the key action is perfect! Serial number 20,577, therefore made in 1994, according to Fox Products Corporation records. I am the second owner. The first owner bought the bassoon after taking about 6 months’ worth of lessons (having played on a Schreiber student bassoon), and only played this instrument for another year or so before selling it to me. This bassoon features all standard Model II / Model 201 keywork, up to high E, with the addition of a high A whisper key arm. It is being sold with its two original Fox CVX-2 and CVX-3 bocals, as well as an extremely well-matched Heckel CDR-1 bocal. There are also: (1) a screw-in hand Fox hand crutch bracket and full German-style carved wooden crutch; and (2) a Moosmann-brand distance guard (aka “belly bumper”) that really helps with standing play! Finally, included in this sale is a gently used Marcus Bonna black leather bassoon case. I am selling this bassoon in order to help fund a new small business. I am sorry to see it go, but it should be played! The fine print: -        PLEASE- if you have special needs regarding shipping or packaging, bring them to my attention BEFORE the end of the auction! If you want a shipping method that is not shown under the current choices, let me know before you pay so I can change the invoice to reflect that change. I strive to ship things out as quickly as possible after you have paid, often the next day. -        No reserve. If you need more time, I ask only that you have the courtesy to contact me to let me know so we can work together on this. Please, let us communicate openly! If you have any concerns or problems talk to me before opening a case. I am reasonable and understand that “life happens.”-        You can expect that I will package the bassoon VERY carefully!-        Please note that I only ship to confirmed addresses as registered with eBay/Paypal.-        Feedback will be left for every transaction . . . after you have received your item, and have expressed your satisfaction with the item, either by e-mail, or by posting feedback for me.
