For sale here is an opportunity to own a beautiful and very rare Howarth S3 oboe d'amore. It is open holed, conservatoire system with added thumbplate, which could be easily removed if not required.The serial number is 2145, which dates it to the1960s I believe. I bought it in 2015 from Howarth, where it had received an overhaul in their workshop prior to sale and I have used it very little since so that it is offered in very good order. I have the bill of sale from Howarth so that you can be confident of its provenance. I believe the instrument was previously used by Howarth as their rental d'amore for many years. The d'amore comes with an as new (bought in 2015) Howarth case and cover, which I think cost about £400. This is a reluctant sale due to lack of use and my needing to rationalise my collection of musical instruments.I know this is a big purchase for anyone, so please ask if you have any questions, before buying.
