This is the guitar that made Jeff Beck and the Yardbirds famous. Other vintage Esquire players were, Luther Perkins, (Johnny Cash), Scotty Moore, (Elvis Presley), Steve Cropper, (Booker T. and the M.G.'s), Syd Barrett, (Pink Floyd), and many others. For it's age, this guitar is in remarkable condition. Jim Baggett, of Antiques Roadshow, examined it in my home, and declared it original, and correct. There are absolutely no issues. The electronics function perfectly. The tone and volume controls are smooth, with no scratch, or static. With the exception of the small gouge on the bottom backside edge, and the wear mark, also backside, (see photos), the body, and finish are in excellent condition, with the typical cracks, and crazes associated with a vintage blonde finish, (again, see photos). Likewise the neck, tuners are straight, and turn freely, and hardware is complete, with original plating, and are as close to perfect as you'll find. I didn't even bother to clean it for the photos, (Note the grime on the tuning pegs.). The case is not the original, which was replaced in the early 70's, it is, nonetheless a quality replacement. I bought this guitar several years ago as an investment, and the time has come to set it free. Dare to own a piece of history.
