This lovely antique full-size French violin is labelled "modele de - Rue de la Gare No.71 - NICOLAS ALDRIC, PERE, - Luthier a Nantes. an 1934".  It is in excellent condition - just a bumped corner and a small patch of varnish missing from back, practically mint.  It has a good looking two-piece flamed maple back and matching ribs.  Neat workmanship with elegant arching and small delicate corners.  Lovely golden/amber varnish, original throughout with chamfers picked out in black.Excellent tone for a violin in this price range, lovely mellow sonorous sound.It has a new set-up with quality rosewood fittings, a professionally cut bridge and Pirastro Tonica strings.Length of back 362mm.This is a great sounding instrument suitable for a Grade 8 student or discerning amateur.
