Peavey V Type EXP Limited Edition Vandenberg Guitar in Flametop finish – Almost Mint. The time has come to sell my trusty Peavey V type EXP limited edition Vandenberg guitar in red flametop finish. Circa 2001 – 2004. The only reason I’m selling this is because I’ve just replaced it with a mint black version, which I’ve been looking years for. I honestly don’t know where to begin describing this guitar. It’s basically peavey’s Korean version of the Adrian Vandenberg signature guitar from the 80s. Whilst the USA Vandys are extremely collectable and rare, in many ways they are inferior to their Korean cousins. I’d prefer a Korean version any day! This guitar is a stunner. It’s a true metal shred guitar in every sense of the term. The flame top is stunning! A beautifully finished piece of wood. The grain is lovely. The body and thru neck (for very easy access to 24th fret) are white bound, but also are bound with real Abalone. This is no cheap imitation finish! The fretbord is high quality Rosewood and is inlayed at the 12th fret with a mother of pearl ‘Limited Edition’. The guitar has 24 jumbo frets that show no real wear. The guitar boasts a neck thru construction for better strength and amazingly good tone and sustain. The guitar was always played at home and rarely used, hence the condition. The guitar has the limited edition Grover ‘Granade Pin’ machine heads, which add a real individuality to the guitar. The trem is a Peavey Licenced Floyd Rose unit with locking topnut. Control knobs are original Peavey knurled metal in black. Everything on this guitar is original apart from the pickups, which have been upgraded to EMG 81 and EMG 85 for that classic 80s-90s rock/metal sound, that made Metallica so rich! I’ve drop tuned the guitar to D because that’s just how I roll! The guitar sounds phenomenal through my Marshall AVT amp. A real heavy metal sound. The guitar has had a full pro setup and plays brilliantly. The action is very low and fast with no fret buzz and nice string tension. I can bend two full tones if I push it! This guitar is almost perfect condition. There are no marks or scratches anywhere that I can see, except for a few very light ‘buckle dimples’ on the back, which are hard to see unless you really look. I tried to photograph them, but they are so small they didn’t show up. The guitar still has the original stickers on the backplate and the plastic covering too! Seriously, this guitar is definitely ‘A’ grade. They just don’t come up for sale in this condition very often. So, if you want something ‘different’ that looks the part, plays amazingly well and sounds phenomenal, then look no further. This guitar positively oozes quality. They just don’t make them like this any more. These are becoming very collectable and this is in collectors condition. Comes with a soft case. Viewing most welcome. First to see will buy! Please call 07595 516388 to arrange to view. No trem kickers! Lol! Any questions please ask. All stupid offers will be ignored. Happy bidding!
