I’m selling my Eastman 804 A Style Mandolin. I’ve been taking lessons off and on for several years but haven’t been playing much in recent years so I’ve decide to sell my mandolin since it is going unused in my home.The 804 has an oval hole with an inlaid rosette and binding around the oval hole. Eastman mandolins are handcrafted by highly skilled woodworkers using hand tools almost exclusively. They are known for crafting high quality affordably priced stringed instruments. Their mandolins are no exception. I purchased this mandolin new at the historic Rudy’s Music Stop in NYC on Broome Street. This mandolin came recommended to me by my instructor at the time as a high quality but value priced instrument. He owned one as well and I was impressed by the sound and finish so decided to find one of my own.Eastman makes fine stringed instruments including mandolins, violins and archtop guitars. The 804 features:AA highly flamed maple, spruce topFully boxed ivoroid bindingEbony veneer on back of headstockGold fittingsEastman mandolins are serialized. Mine was produced in 2005 and bears serial number 33.Comes with a hardshell case. The case is wrapped in nylon for a soft finish. Inside the instrument is held securely and protected by a burgundy red velvet liner complete with a piece that sits on top of the instrument to further protect. Case has handle as well as an adjustable carry strap. Case is similar in style to a violin case. Instrument shoulder strap is included. It is small so the new owner may find themselves needing a new one if it isn’t the right size. While I haven’t played in a while I’ve maintained the instrument to keep it from drying out.Local pickup is available in addition to shipping to the United States and Puerto Rico.
