2005 Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster with all working electronics as assembled in 2005 by Fender Guitars.What's New?
1. New Fender licensed Vintage Tint, 22 Extra Jumbo Fret Neck. With 9.5 Arc Radius(You can actually play Barre chords w/ battery cable strings)like SRV played. New neck also features truss rod adjustments at headstock, not heel of neck which requires neck removal to adjust original neck's truss rod.
2. New Wilkinson 2 1/8"(2.130") String Spaced(Lefty) Tremolo with Special Order Jumbo Steel Tremolo Block to replace 2 7/32"(2.21") Original Tremolo measured on my Mitutoyo dial caliper, to avoid common problems of E strings coming off fretboard. Check photos on how little fretboard remains outside of E strings on perfectly centered neck.. Add .090 thousandths wider with Vintage Trem and you can see where this is a common complaint in reviews on strats w/ Vintage spacing.(No alteration to body to install. No drilling, grinding etc;)
3. New Gold Modern Locking Tuners
4. New Gold String Trees( coming from England) will be shipped with guitar to buyer to locate to their preference
5. 11 guage DiAddario strings.
6. Photos show similar neck installed on it previously,but that neck is now installed on Body with Trem King Tremolo and 2 1/16" string spacing. Same fretboard width and and nut spacing,but you can see how strings have moved inward on fretboard with Trem King's Narrow spacing (2.060").(Abalone inlay is New Neck) You can also see how much closer 2 1/8" spaced Wilkinson is to fretboard edge. I think this is a good compromise and it still allows enough finger room for Hybrid or Chicken Pickin. 1. Photo shows standard Fender Lefty tremolo and block(left), SRV Trem and block(center) and Wilkinson Black unit installed on guitar. Guitar will be shipped with original Vintage Tremolo and stamped saddles, string trees (when they arrive) and original rear cover plate. This guitar was saved with no disrespect intended to my "Guitar Hero", but with the recognition that his guitar model was intended to be manhandled in a way no guitarist besides SRV could play. His own Touring Professional Luthier described SRV's guitars as"Extremely Difficult To Play". I saw him in 1989 with B.B. KING at the Greek Theatre and SRV was amazing.
