Blues Vintage Guitars Inc., one of Nashville, Tennessee's premier buyers and sellers and vintage and newer high-end guitars, is very proud to offer this incredible vintage 1966 Gibson ES-335 semi-hollowbody guitar with a maginificent Vintage Sunburst finish, and in pristine condition!
This was a true "closet find." It is an uncirculated, one-owner guitar, and it was purchased directly from its original owner. In fact, the original owner liked this beautiful guitar so much that one year later he went back to the same music store in Tennessee and purchased another one - an equally gorgeous 1967 Gibson ES-335. However, the 1967 ES-335 is finished in Gibson's RARE Sparkling Burgundy custom color - which is considered one of Gibson's most beautiful finishes of all-time. We also purchased the Sparkling Burgundy ES-335, and it's available exclusively in one of our other eBay auctions, and also thru our store, Blues Vintage Guitars, Inc., in beautiful Nashville, Tennessee.
This amazing ES-335 has been played, but it also has been very well maintained. For starters, it has never been taken apart, or had any work done to it at all. It is in 100% original condition, with no changed parts, original finish, original black Gibson hardshell case, ORIGINAL EVERYTHING!!!In fact, we were the first ones to inspect the guitar and take it apart for authenticity. It needed NOTHING but a simple setup and a slight and very light cleaning. It is quite obvious the guitar's only owner kept it in a humidity controlled environment. Even the original case is in EXCELLENT shape for its age, though it does have a few nicks and dings, and frayed edges. However, it is completely intact. All hinges, latches and handle are intact and operable.
Seriously folks, this is arguably one of the nicest mid-1960s Gibson ES-335 guitars on the market today! It is in absolutely stunning condition, and has NEVER had anything replaced, repaired, or anything else. EVERYTHING on this guitar is original, without question! There is nothing wrong with the guitar, and it needs absolutely NOTHING! As stated above, we simply gave it a very light cleaning and general setup. The guitar plays and sounds as nice as it looks. Pictures simply do not do it justice. This is a guitar that needs to be played to be fully appreciated. Please take a close look at all 100 pictures below ... they tell the full story.Everything on this beautiful Gibson ES-335 checks out. There is nothing about it that would give anyone any doubt whatsoever as to what it is, and whether it has ever been touched. All electronics, pickups, tuners, nut, pickguard, every screw, bridge saddle, EVERYTHING, is completely 100% original to this guitar as it was the day it left the Gibson factory in 1966.
The guitar itself has some very light finish checking (barely noticeable), and a few very, very light nicks and dings. We have tried our best to show everything in the pictures below. But the original Vintage Sunburst finish is just magnificent, with the wood grain showing thru it at just the right angles.
