The "Guarneri" model violin has a two piece back of medium flamed maple with the curl slightly descending from the center seam. The ribs, neck and scroll are matching in figure. The two piece top is of spruce with medium grain. The varnish is light red brown. The measurements are as follows:Back length: 35.3 cm Lower bout: 20.7 cmUpper bout: 15.5 cm String length: 32.9 cmMiddle bout: 11.3 cm Mensur: 19.4 CMThe appraised value is $9,000.The sound is bright and full with good projection.Precision geared pegs have been professionally installed.Min violins are typically sold for $8,000 - $10,000.
