Honestly, this is a great banjo. She plays well, is super light, for a higher end banjo, and feels great to play. I bought the banjo a few years back because Hartford is one of my heroes. The only reason I am selling her is to put the money toward a new upright bass. I am a gigging bass player and no longer play the banjo. This is a great all purpose banjo. She'll make a great festival banjo because of her light weight. You still get a great tone and an extremely quality instrument due to the banjo being a Deering. Another cool aspect of the banjo is she was made in 1998. Deering was still using mother of pearl for inlays then opposed to abalone that is used today. She may be older but she does not have a lot of miles on her. I bought the banjo from the original owner who was older and did not play the banjo much through time. She didn't travel much at all out here either as I have a nice Stelling banjo that I used as my gig banjo. The banjo also comes with a Fishman Rare Earth pickup. Sounds great plugged in with this pick up. Adds an extra $250 value to the banjo and makes her gig ready if you so desire.I recently had her setup and had new strings put on. She also comes with a case. It is not a Deering case but a sturdy one none the less. You can check out more details about the banjo on Deering's website. You can email them too and they will usually answer any questions you have. I posted a picture of the model/serial number for you to use as a reference.I'll cover the shipping costs in the US and maybe out of country depending on the cost. She really is a great banjo and deserves to go to a good home where she will be played and able to sing again. If you are looking for a great deal on a great banjo then you've come to the right place. All sales are final as I am putting the money toward another instrument. Please feel free to email me with questions if you would like more information. Let the bidding begin!
