Martin's 16 series guitars have been redesigned for 2017, with their DC-16E boasting a host of features that make it one of the most playable dreadnoughts Martin has crafted. While it's dreadnought cutaway shape should immediately feel familiar, this guitar has a 000-style depth to it, making it significantly thinner and easier to handle, weighing in at just over four pounds. Thankfully, tone isn't sacrificed, with a solid Sitka Spruce top and Sycamore back and sides providing excellent note definition for chords, fingerstyle, and everything in between. The DC-16E looks great, too, thanks to a multi-stripe orange top inlay with silver binding on the body and fingerboard, plus mother of pearl diamond/square inlays. You'll also be able to plug it in and play live thanks to Fishman Matrix VT Enhance NT2 electronics.
