Up for auction is a Conn 8DRS double french horn. The engraving reads "C G Conn 8D Made in U.S.A.". The 8D, is Conn's symphony double horn, and is constructed from solid nickel silver. This instrument has been fitted with a red brass leadpipe, first branch and bell which gives it a warmer, fuller sound than a standard 8D. The horn plays very well. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there are a couple of tiny dings and pings throughout the horn, as well as a small amount of very light pitting. This horn also features a screw-bell configuration, so the bell is detachable for easy storage. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wished for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This instrument comes with a ProTec backpack-style screw bell case in good condition, and a gold plated Holton Farkas mouthpiece in good condition.All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop710 N.
