Brand new and unused bass viol or viola da gamba by Lu-Mi. Modelled after an original from 1660 by Richard Meares. This model is perhaps the best all-round 6 string bass viol to play all kinds of repertoire. Decorated, deluxe model. Comes with a new hard case. (A brand new Lu Mi bow is also available at extra cost, just enquire).Lu-Mi instruments, from luthier Wang Zhi Ming in Beijing, are well known for their excellent viols modelled after various historic originals and are the main viola da gamba brand sold by The Early Music Shop in the UK. EMS are charging just shy of £4000 for this viol with hard case, and this one hasn't been moved about and taken around summer schools...This viol is brand new and will be properly set up with new strings and a soundpost fitted after sale. It will be securely packed and sent out fully insured and trackable. If you prefer to have it set up by your favourite luthier after delivery, then a suitable discount can be negotiated - just let me know.
