Here is an amazingly clean and well-preserved specimen of a MIJ Squier Jazz Bass from the highly sought after JV serial, white with white pick guard. This is a very late 1984 model - December - so one of the very last of the MIJ JV Squier models to be produced, and it's a rare and beautiful one at that!
First, the ONLY noticeable marks on this guitar can be found on the bottom backside of the body. There are several scuffs only a few millimeters in length, shown to the right side of the guitar strap button on the 7th photo I uploaded. You'll be hard pressed to find any other marks on this bass! The paint on this guitar shines and is in pristine condition - no chips or cracks other than the aforementioned scratches. The neck is in outstanding shape, with not a single chip, scratch, dent, crack, etc. Running your hand along the neck, it's as smooth as silk. Where the neck connects to the body of the guitar there are no stress cracks or any damage. The headstock is equally smooth and clean. The machine heads shine, but the A string tuning peg has a minor scuff on one side which is barely noticeable. They are not rusted at all. The frets are not worn and have tons of life left in them; they barely look used. The rosewood fretboard is clean, although some of the grain shows a little discoloration (maybe from dryness - see photos). The bass is all original, with the original earth strap still attached and intact, strap buttons and hardware clean, shiny and matching...even the pick guard is in great shape and has only minor scuffs from a pick only noticeable in the right light.
I encourage you to scrutinize the photos, even though they can't quite do justice to the condition of this jazz bass. It is truly one of the nicest JV Squiers you'll find, and yes it's listed at a premium as a result. I will happily take additional pictures of parts of the guitar to email to you for further investigation and peace of mind, but please understand I do not want to extensively disassemble it. I will gladly answer any questions you may have as well. The guitar includes a padded, brown leatherette soft case/gig bag. The guitar will be wrapped in bubble wrap and properly padded and secured prior to shipping. I reserve the right to refuse bids or to send this guitar to any place I feel uncomfortable with (i.e. with a track record of "lost" or damaged parcels). If you have questions regarding this please feel free to contact me.Local pickup is welcome, and in which case I will refund shipping costs. For what it's worth, guitar is available to inspect prior to bidding, if you happen to be in Japan. Thanks, and all the best.
