2006 Gibson Flying V Faded Worn CherryThis guitar is in very good condition, fret and neck wear is fine. Shows normal playing wear, with a scuff on the neck as shown in the photo. Unlike the current Flying V Faded guitars with no pickguard and only two knobs, this is the satin finish version of the classic ‘70’s and ‘80’s Flying Vs.First released by Gibson in 1958, the Flying V offered a radical, “futuristic” body design, much like its siblings the Explorer and Moderne. I believe the body is made of korina wood, a trademarked name for limba, a wood similar to but lighter in color than mahogany. Albert King played a Flying V, which is now owned by Joe Bonamassa. Hendrix also played one.Specs:Year: 2006Serial Number: 022860320Body: MahoganyNeck: MahoganyFinish: Worn CherryFingerboard: RosewoodScale Length: 24.75”Number of Frets: 22Pickguard: White/Black/WhiteBridge: Nashville Tune-O-MaticTailpiece: Stop barTuners: Kluson Keystone style SchallersPickups: Gibson 496R and 500TControls: Volume/Volume, Tone, 3-way pickup selector switchWidth at Nut: 1 11/16”Radius: 9”Weight: 6.8 lbs.Original Flying V Gig bag included
