Description Brand: Fender Model: Bassman Exact Year: 1962 Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
Fender Bassman head and cab from 1962 in Blonde/oxblood. Sounds amazing, and is ready to use. This is the amp that early Marshall amps are copied from directly.Purchased from Action music in Arlington in February 2011, with low usage (<90 hours total) since purchase. They had performed full service including filter cap replacement at that time. It's the rarer/earlier 6G6 circuit with tube rectification and presence circuit/ knob. It's also made before Fender sold the company to CBS.The cab and head are in cosmetically good condition. Some pine knots on the tolex from age, which are normal for these amps. Head has a small rip in the tolex on the front. The head does not have the screw in hardware for the cab.The power transformer has been replaced with a high quality mercury magnetics Acxiom transformer, model # FBBP (more detail in pictures below). As shown in the screenshot provided, the FBBP is a replica of the original transfomer design in the bassman. Acxiom are mercury's top of the line transformers. The choke appears to be a replacement as well. The preamp transformer appears to be the original. Pictures of all 3 are included. 3 prong cord. The wiring inside is all original. All of the sought after blue and yellow (Ajax and Astron) capacitors are in place.Speakers are 2 Weber 12A125's. Terms:Fender, blonde, blond, 6l6, 2x12, weber, 5881, 50 watts, head, cabinet, tube, vintage, oxblood, tolex, pre-CBS, piggyback, bass man, hand wired, blackface, black face, brownface brown face, silver face, silverface, tweed
