Fender Mustang 1965 CBS ‘Transition Period’ Electric Guitar Price: $2,399.00 For sale is an incredible vintage Fender guitar. This Mustang was manufactured in October of 1965, placing it in the often referred to "transition" period after the acquisition of Fender by CBS. This is a nearly original example of the guitar, with just the pickguard, potentiometers, switches and the neck plate being non-original, the rest is the real deal. This is a B width neck, measuring in at 1 5/8", lends a more substantial feel to this great little guitar. Tonally very crisp and articulate, the gray bottom single coil pickups in this guitar are twangy and sweet with the quintessential Fender bell like chime. Due to the lower output and clarity of these pickups it lends itself perfectly to effects and overdrive or distortion. Cosmetically this guitar is in very good condition for its age, with a few dings and scratches as well as a fairly noticeable ding in the corner of the guitar. There is typical signs of wear and tear for its age, finish swiring and such across the top and back. This is one of the best vintage Mustang's we've ever laid our hands on, with an incredible tonality and beautiful aesthetics all at a great price.
