Great condition for a 30 year old vintage guitar The last picture shows the Original Jackson Charvel Chainsaw Hardshell Case that is not included, however it is available in my other auctions. If you buy the case and the guitar I can save you some shipping charge. Excellent 1987 80's Charvel Model 5A. Neck thru body, pearl metallic white. Original Chrome Tremolo arm included. Original J-95 pickup with removable cover (the cover was originally attached with some adhesive). Legend has it that back in the early 90's Dave Mustaine & Marty Friedman used to fight over these! With good reason! Comes with Original JT-6 tremolo and arm. The originals chainsaw case is not included, however it is available in my other auctions and if you buy the guitar and case I can save you some shipping. This is the rarest of the rare for the '86-'89 Charvel Model Series. Only 600 were ever produced by the factory in Japan. Of those, 300 of were later retrofitted by Charvel with a slant single at the neck (to become the 5FX). There are a few dings, see close-up pictures, however she is still pretty. The color is white which was one of the metallic finishes offered. The guitar is neck-through construction with poplar body wings, and a 24 fret fretboard on a 25.5 inch scale. The neck, fretboard and frets are also in nice condition, see pictures. The bridge is a Jackson JT-6 double-locking Floyd Rose with Jackson branded Gotoh tuners. The J-95 pickup is considered the holy grail of Jackson USA wound humbuckers, called "high output wide-band" by JacksonCharvel Model 5A MIJ,Smokin Hot Guitar Gorgeous 1987 Vintage Beautiful Everything works great. Frets look great, see picture. All original no breaks, repairs or fret issues. The guitar weighs 8 and 1/4 pounds. Vintage Charvel Model 5A Guitar, Made in Japan.A proper old school Charvel, pre toothpaste logo "a toothpaste logo has Charvel spelled in big cursive letters", it's a great guitar due to the quality”.The pickup has a removable plastic cover on it. It can be played with the cover on or remove it to expose the bobbins.This guitar built in the year of 1987 and has the serial number C704501 stamped into the last, blind fret of the fingerboard. C704501Internet info as follows, The Charvel Model 5 and 6 have a neck-through design and unlike the Model 1 - 4, their serial number directly reveal the build year. The serial syntax is CXXXXXX. For example, C800210 is built in the year of 1988. C701212 would be 1987.When the Charvel Model 5 and 6 were introduced in 1986, the serial number was found on the back of the headstock under the clear coat, in the form of a plastic decal. Later on, around mid 1987, the factory abandoned the decal on the headstock and began stamping the serial number into the last, blind fret of the fingerboard.Logo trademarks on the headstock of the Model 5 and 6 should be the same as the bolt-on models.
