From the retro pro . This is a unusual find not just a great guitar. Here's what I've found on the web. The guitar was made in Korea in 1988 to 90 it looks to me to be a samick guitar they have made almost all fender products for a long time .The neck is a thin c shape the Cort guitars are more d shaped . This guitar was made in the same shop as the Ibanez guitars .This is what makes this so special the body cut is a strat but the shape is like the S models Ibanez. The guitar weight is about one half that of a standard strat , so that makes this the first S model guitar made before , Ibanez made the S model one of the finest guitars ever made and one of the best selling guitars in the world . how's that for some real guitar history . NOT only a super player but a good collector too .Here's what we've done with the guitar _ 1 a Full neck set up , the neck was straight so we did a little leveling , shaping , buffed the frets . The finish was in good shape showing some signs of wear but nothing that showed in the pictures , we buffed it put a light clear spay and waxed still a great looker . The electronics left some issues the output was low level the pots were pretty bad . We replaced the pickups with two vintage 2 wire hum buckers a little hotter they sound like the original but with higher out put the center with a single coil tellacaster pickup great improvement and a great look . I have the original pickups and I can include if your a collector . The folyd rose we blocked much better for tuning and changing the strings but the blocks can be simply removed if you want to . Like all of my projects it's only special if you like it but i've been doing this for a very long time and each guitar is special in it's on way.
