Little known (in the states) recreations of Neve's famous 1073 mic preamp/eq, made for 500-series racks. They're made by Audio Maintenance Limited (AML) in the UK, who are AMS-Neve's chosen company for any official repairs when you have stuff serviced by Neve. (They also service some of the largest studios in the UK.)Unlike most 1073 clones, that go for the exact look (i.e., red & grey Marconi knobs) but sound little like the real things. These guys respectfully don't try to copy the look of Neves, while being by far the closest sounding clone to our ears. (As seen in the last pic, the reason it takes up two spaces is because of the overly large exacting copy of early Neve marinair transformers they designed.)A nice feature of the 2-space 500 rack design is that you can have your microphone set up in the first set of inputs (feeding your converters/computer) and then the 2nd space's set of inputs/outputs can be set up for line inputs on a mixing board... No need for any repatching. So it has two different inputs, but the two outputs share a common output signal. (Another nice use for this is that when recording you can record both a dry output, and then use the 2nd output for recording compression/reverb post preamp.)Read the reviews online. There aren't a lot of them, but when you find them, people adore these guys.
