Description
Brand: May Bell Exact Year: 1935
Type: Electric Country/Region of Manufacture: United States

Up for sale is a lap steel bearing the May Bell brand name, which was owned by Slingerland. This is essentially the budget version of the Slignerland model 400, minus the flamed maple veneer, the fancy headstock ornamentation and with a pickup built by Regal. This steel is built of mahogany and features a hard-wired cord. The pickup has strong output and a warm, round tone. The scale is 24".The tuners are replacements, as is the cord. Everything else looks original, including the form-fitting case (which is in good shape but has been painted black). There is light wear all around the steel.
