Description Brand: Fender Exact Year: 1952 Type: Lap Steel Guitar Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
This is a rare, all original, one owner, early 1950's Fender Champion lap steel guitar and case, in good condition. This guitar is a family heirloom and belonged to my mom who played it in her grade school Hawaiian guitar choir in the early 1950's. It has been in storage, unplayed since then. The body of the guitar is in exceptional condition and still contains the original 1950's Fender pickups, the same ones used in the original model Fender Telecaster. GORGEOUS warm goo-y sound, straight from the 50's. The original volume and tone knobs are also intact and in exceptional condition. Original tuning pegs are intact, but are brittle and cracking. The guitar still plays and sounds incredible. To find one of these gems with all original parts is extremely rare... from the most desirable era of Fender guitars ever produced. This piece of guitar history will increase in value over time. Also included is the original vintage Fender red plush and tweed hard case it was purchased with. The top and sides of this 60 year old case are in very good condition, while the bottom has some discoloration. The red plush interior housing the guitar is near mint condition. The case is in overall good condition. And an early 50's Fender Champion played by someone who knows their way around it: Happy bidding!
