When asked to make a guitar as part of the 2017 Fender Custom Shop Founders Design Project, Master Builder John Page harkened back to his earliest days with what has now become known as the "Dream Factory".In celebration of the Custom Shop's 30th anniversary, Page made a unique Double F-Hole Thinline Esquire, a design he initially created back in 1990. Called the "Page-O-Caster", Page's offering features a Koa top (a tribute to his mentor, Freddie Tavares, the creator of the Fender Stratocaster), a genuine mahogany body, a roasted AAA flame maple neck and an ebony fretboard. What's more, its five separate acoustic chambers in the body that makes it sound extremely resonant, so anyone can play it even if not plugged in. "Controlling the size of the chambers tends to control the tone I'm looking for better and doesn't lend itself to feedback," Page said.Learn more about Page's masterful Double F-Hole Thinline Esquire in the video above.
