Here we have the famous Airline Res-o-glas guitar, from late 1965, according to the pot codes. Though I never did learn its official name or model number, I refer to this one as the "JB Hutto", as it has the six on a side tuners, whereas Jack White's which had the Gumby headstock with three on a side tuners. This one is in pretty good shape. The neck binding isn't all cracked like a lot of my other Res-o-glas guitars. It has no body cracks.  It also has the screw hole covers, original nut, and the original, regrettably tiny, frets. Maybe that's why Hutto played slide on it. This one can actually be played traditionally because it has a neck that is about as straight as these Valcos remain after 50 years. The only real drag is the oxidation at on the edge of the neck pickup. You might get some relief from polish, but re-plating is always an option.  This is pretty standard deterioration on these Valco beauties, no doubt caused by a few decades in a case with off-gassing plastic (mostly the binding). Oh, did I mention the case? How many of these have you seen? I've set a very reasonable price for this, so I'm not into offers for eleven hundred bucks. Tell you what, pay full price, and I'll put B and E strings on it before it ships. The video link is from a Chicago blues documentary, but you can see the man himself, JB Hutto, playing this guitar at the 24 minute mark. And wouldn't you know it, it seems his woman has left him again!"As Is" sale, with all sales final. Item guaranteed as described.Payment Terms:Payment due within 3 days of sale.
