Hey all you Valcollectors™, have you ever wondered what a Supro Model 24, or a 1624T would sound like with a pair of Jensen 12's? This is IT! This is my EXTREMELY RARE Orpheum 2x12 amplifier made in Chicago by the legendary Valco company. I'm sure some guy bought this for his accordion back in the day, with absolutely no idea what he had in his hands. Well, I'll tell you... What we have here is an amp with two channels that can be jumpered, very strong swampy tremolo, and a duet of 6973 power tubes with hand-wired, point-to-point circuitry delivering approximately 17 watts RMS. Bada-Boom! Valco's Tone Heaven!Hear for yourself. Here's a vid from youtube of a guy who's lucky enough to own one of these.THIS is the sound of Valco/Supro lore. Now, I'm not going to claim this is the amp Jimmy used -- because his only had one 12" speaker. However, this blues-rock crunch machine is essentially the same as the to-die-for Supro Model 24 (1624T). The only difference I see is this amp has a PAIR of beautiful Jensen C12R speakers that are totally original to the amp, as per Valco's proprietary "550" on the date stamp. Both the speakers and the serial # plate put this amp in the world of 1962.Seeing these pictures, I realize that nothing brings out the dust like shooting in sunlight. I guess I should have wiped this baby down. But don't worry, this thing is CLEAN. As you can see, the amp is covered in the "Ostrich Skin" material that wouldn't find its way onto other Valco amps until '67 or so, by which time the line no longer had tube rectifiers, as this amp does (5Y3GT).As far as I can tell, the only non-original thing on this amp is the plug attached to the original power cord. You're going to want to replace the whole shebang with a more safe grounded plug. There are reasons why someone bought the Supro name and started reissuing some of their coveted amps. And this amp, with this circuit, and this tube compliment are some of those reasons. I've attached a pic of the inside of a Model 24 for you to compare to my amp. Case Closed. My price is about what you'd pay for a mid-'60s Supro 24. This Orpheum is more rare, and more "more", if you know what I mean. However, serious offers will be considered.Payment Terms:Payment due within 3 days of sale. Contact me beforehand to work out any other arrangements.Buyer agrees to pay ACTUAL shipping, which will probably be in the area of fifty bucks. Buyer will pay for any overage, seller shall refund any balance. "As Is" sale, with all sales final. Item guaranteed as described.Local pickup is always welcome.
