This is "new old stock", ESP made these cool Hybrid IIs (called hybrid because it was meant to be a cross between a Strat and a Tele), which it very much looks like. They were found in a warehouse in Hollywood a few years back, brand new. ESP made em, tucked them away, and forgot about them or some shit, who knows.  Long description here as it's a very rare item, and ESP doesn't keep dick for records, so this is what my research turned up -  bear w/ me if you're interested and feel free w/ any questions.
The guitar itself is from the early 90's, most likely 1993 as this is the last time they showed up in an ESP product catalog, so best guess is that this and the other old stock they found in the warehouse was an overrun of the 1993 production, (you can google and check out old ESP catalogs, though they were VERY archaic back then, doesn't list the specs, just a pic of the guitar), though it could be as early as 1990, not that it matters, it's brand new, definitely early 90s. . When I acquired this guitar I took it to Third Coast Guitars here in Chicago for a tune up (sitting in a warehouse for a few decades, changing humidity, changing temps etc there was no way all the wiring and truss rod stayed true), SO I HAD THE PROS at Third Coast polish the frets, freshened up the old wiring (all new wires, no decade old wires in the instrument anymore), and adjusted the intonation and truss rod, a complete full set up and tune up. So, though this guitar is vintage and very rare in every sense of the words, this guitar is also new, AND improved via Third Coast. Thirty years old, but it's as if it just came out of the factory.  The pics - anything that looks not perfect is glare, or dust. The guitar is in perfect condition. The case pictured will come with the sale. It is a Fender case, fits the guitar perfectly.  Okay, the specs are tricky, ESP didn't keep many records and didn't even start a serial number tracking system until the mid 2000s. What I do know - the bridge pickup is a Duncan Screamin' Deamon', I'm not sure what the neck pickup is, best guess is an ESP single coil, or whatever they used in the early 90s. I do know it gives great fucking tones though, it's an awesome PU for clean tones making it a great compliment to the Deamon in the bridge which is a lot more punchy and great with nice tight, smooth gain. Dropping a silver EMG 81 in the bridge would be bad ass too if Duncans aren't your thing.  It has 22 frets. It is a bolt on (technically), but there is no real big old neck joint where the bolts are (see pics), so access to the upper frets is pretty much the same as it would be on a neck thru body, which is VERY nice as you don't get that with an actual Strat or Tele.  You can see the neck joint in some of the pics.....  kinda a cross between a set neck/bolt on/neck through... absolutely NO problem shredding the upper frets,   the name Hybrid was spot on by ESP there with the odd neck joint, heh.  Also, what I know - When the Third Coast guys had her guts opened up they determined Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, which makes sense as that is a very typical ESP wood spec.  I've only played this for maybe one hour tops. Very resonant guitar, you can really hear the sound of the wood, especially with the passive PU, the high quality wood that ESP Japan uses really shines on this instrument. The sharp, articulate alder sound is incredible, probably better than my M2 NTB.  Maybe it's the weird neck joint that makes the wood so resonant idk..  But, It's gorgeous, it's rare as fuck, and I looked at it as more of a collector item (which it is, and becoming more so every year, the only Hybrid ESP is making now is a shitty el tee dee abortion disaster) than anything else so I just played my M2s and Eclipses while the Hybrid hung on the wall, lookin' pretty. Could never bring myself to really play it. Smoke free condo FYI..    So,  I think it's time to pass it on to someone who will actually use it, or to someone with an actual collection. I don't have the space to hang on to a guitar that I'm not going to be using semi-daily.   This color is also exceedingly rare. If you can find one of these, which you can't, chances are its yellow. ESP made most of these yellow to compete with the famous yellow tele's, but they also made black and burgundy and teal, according to the catalog.  As far as I can tell, this is the only true ESP Hybrid on sale on the whole interweb right now and probably will be for a long time.  Ok, hit me with any questions, I better hit post, I'm starting to talk myself out of selling it. I know I'm going to regret selling it, but man, it's time for this beauty to go to a home where she can be rode hard and put away wet, as nature intended.  If you live in the Chicagoland area, feel free to message me if you want to take a look in person.  I live right downtown near Hancock.
